At eBay:
  • Staff Presentation Engineer at high-traffic, high-profile, ever changing and evolving, international auction web site with rich user interface. Expert in XML, XSL, with strong focus on localization of the content, to support eight western and two Asian languages, in three different encodings. Mentor for group of 25 XSL developers.
  • Developed XSL for several parts of the eBay web site, specifically for the highly dynamic Seller flow, where sellers can enter all the information about the items they like to sell.
  • Was part of team to introduce globalization management tool. Trained over 80 developers regarding localization and internationalization of XML/XSL based web pages.
  • Wrote XSL Coding Guidelines documentation. Developed XSL-based tools to analyze XSL stylesheets and to validate other XSL files against the coding guidelines.
  • Developed prototype for pipeline XML/XSL architecture, according to Separation of Concerns design pattern.

  • Introduced new CAD design tools, procedures and working methods. Developed software to automate and simplify CAD-design, reducing design time by 60% and production time by 15%.

  • Introduced photo-realistic imaging to design team. This enabled technology developers to show new products in their early design stages to manufacturing and marketing, so the designs could be adjusted according to their feedback. In one case this procedure prevented re-design.
  • Worked on a multi-disciplinary team to develop a prototype of a TV component (the deflection coil), from which several features have been implemented in recent designs.
  • Performed magnetic field calculations and statistical analysis for deflection coils for TVs and Monitors.
